I grew up in Northampton, Mass. I was on the track and swim team in high school. Moved to Enfield, CT my senior year. I attended Central CT State University for a degree in Physical Education with a minor in Adapted PE. I have been a PE teacher at Willie Ross School for the Deaf  in Longmeadow, Mass for 26 years and absolutely love my job. I have also coached basketball, softball and track. I just attained a NSCA personal trainer certification and teach a boot camp class at the gym.

My husband of 23 years supports my bodybuilding (most of the time) and is the first one to show off pictures. He trains with me when possible and has finally learned not to touch anything in fridge that has been weighed and measured and with skull and cross bones on it. I have two teenage daughters who are very proud of me but only ask one thing …  Please do not show your 6 pack to our friends

.

I decided to enter a bodybuilding competition 4 years ago after losing 30 pounds on a bet with a co worker. I saw muscles in places I had never seen before since high school so I wanted to take it even further. I picked out a show that would be 8 months down the road and during my spring break. I hired a trainer and posing coach and went for it. I placed in the top three for masters and open and have been hooked since. What started as a midlife crisis has turned into a passion and a way of life. The second year of competitions I started working out with lots of guys from the gym. One of them particularly showed an interest in bodybuilding. Steve Sims now an IFPA pro loved the various training techniques and principles. He attended a show and was hooked. He shed off the football body fat to see what was underneath and decided to go for it. He researched for us nutrition, supplements, diets, etc. I needed someone to train with who was committed, passionate, serious and there at 3:00 o'clock daily. It was perfect.

Contest History:  Have placed in top three in most competitions. 2008 was my best year!  I entered 9 competitions and won 4 overalls ! But my Best win was at James show at the cape. I planned a fun red sox routine in the car on drive down knowing we would be in red sox country during the play offs. I made Steve be an accomplice as much as he hates the red sox, but ending up winning best crowd pleaser routine!

New Goals: To win a NGA show ;place top three in a NPC show;  To compete in more Pro shows creeping slowly up to a top three placing and to compete on stage with my daughter. I also plan to encourage as many women as possible over forty to train for BB or figure competitions.
