Sean (Sully) Sullivan

My closest friend in the OCB, Sully is a legend in New England bodybuilding. He's won just about everything that can be won, promoted more shows in the last few years than anyone I know, and trained most of the top competitors at every show I attend.

I met Sully at the 2006 Spirit of America. Matt Shepley sent me down to test judge the show and I got a chance to meet allot of unbelievable people that day. Sully made sure I was comfortable all day and we became instant friends.

Over the last few years I've have had the good fortune to judge several of his promotions, gone on several road trips with him, and just plain learned more about sportsmanship from the guy who defines sportsmanship. The OCB created an award after him.

THE SULLIVAN

The Sullivan is a sportsmanship award that recognizes an individual who displayed excellent sportsmanship and demonstrated kind, caring and selfless acts during the award year.

The award is named after Sean (Sully) Sullivan. During one competition season, Sullivan and another competitor had been entered in a number of shows. The other competitor was longing for an overall victory but had been denied on more than one occasion due to placing behind Sullivan. At a later event, Sullivan sized up the competition and felt either he or the fellow competitor would probably win the show. In a truly selfless act he faked an injury and withdrew from the contest to make sure it wasn't he who again denied the other competitor an overall victory -- which he did claim at that event and was able to savor the sweetness of an overall championship. This is one example among many of Sullivan giving selflessly of himself out of genuine care for others. His many acts of generosity, kindness and thoughtfulness, in addition to his continued display of honest sportsmanship spanning more than two and a half decades, are why this award is named after him.

Sully's placed first in five national shows: AAU (Mr America), NABBA (Jr USA), NBI (USA), ANBC (Nationals) and OCB (Yorton Cup) as well as top 3 in five pro shows.

Another of a long line of great posers..... sully is one of the best! I could never get tired of watching him perform for the crowd.

Sully has a daughter Kayla and works as a local police officer on the Cape.

He has a new website: http://www.peakedphysique.com

He's one of the best bodybuilding / figure trainers you will find. He is also known to do guest posing routines and seminars. Sully is also an OCB board member and one of the most respected figures along with James Carron in the OCB / IFPA.
