Ron Coleman

Ron has been regular exerciser for almost 20 years.  He didn't begin specific bodybuilding training until 2005 when he began to prepare for his first show, the Charm City Classic.  Ron never considered competing in bodybuilding until (bodybuilder and trainer) John Puskarich approached him at the gym.  He asked Ron if he was preparing for a show. Ron didn't take him seriously as he never considered himself to have the physique to compete. In his mind, competitive bodybuilders were the chemically enhanced guys on the covers of the magazines.  John continued to encourage him to do his show.

Ron finally decided to make the leap and give it a shot.  His only goal for that first contest was to show up and not make a fool of himself. Ron figured that show would be where he would establish his baseline and then he would work from there for future shows.  By the way, Ron was 40 years old, which he thought was way too old for competition.  As you can see from his contest history, he did okay in his first contest.

Ron was not a jock or an athlete growing up.  He was the little guy! The guy who always got picked last in gym class, the nerdy one in glasses who always got abused in dodge ball.

One thing he learned to do was run.  So, once in high school, after much insistence from his gym teacher to do some sport, any sport, he joined the track team in his junior year.

Ron got to do most of the events that no one else wanted to do: long jump, high jump and triple jump.  He was remarkably average at all three.  After high school, Ron was not physically active other than some occasional cycling.  He began lifting weights after college in the early days just for general fitness, with no real plan or focus, basically just going thru the motions.....

Ron's greatest  experience in bodybuilding so far, was being on stage at the 2007 Yorton Cup with top natural bodybuilders whom he has the utmost respect and admiration for: Philip Ricardo Jr., Doug Miller, Kareem Pettaway, Will Powell and others.  Other natural bodybuilders he admires are Layne Norton, Neal Grossman, Sean Sullivan, Wil Usher; there are really too many to name them all.

Ron hopes to get on stage a few times in 2009 and beyond as long as his old body will let him.

Ron's has an outstanding, well proportioned, extremely conditioned physique. I've only seen him compete once, which was at the 2007 Yorton Cup. He placed 4th in an unbelievable Pro class.

He's an outstanding Professional bodybuilder and a really nice guy!
