Donna Shea is a 39 year old mother of three beautiful children. Matt, an 18 year old college student at UMass Amherst, Ava, 2 1/2 years, and Abigail who is 14 months old. She's been married to a wonderful husband Michael for five years. She is a native of Cape Cod and has been into fitness/weight training since the age of 18. Fitness emerged as a lifestyle after she became a certified personal trainer which she did for five years. At the age of 26 Donna entered her first bodybuilding competition with the A.N.B.C. organization. Although it was a challenge for her to get up on stage in a bathing suit, she fell in love with competing and continued her journey as a competitive bodybuilder. Twice she made her way to the A.N.B.C. nationals, placing 3rd in both Pittsburg and Boston. For the next 10 years she didn't compete, but continued to live a healthy lifestyle. After personal training Donna embarked on a successful career in law enforcement.

In her late 30's she had her second and third children and decided to resign from the Sheriff's Department as a Sergeant and became a stay at home mom.

Donna found little time to do the things she loved; "working-out".  She knew her children would always come first, although she also knew she had to somehow find the time to get back into the gym and stay healthy for herself and her kids.

Donna started hitting the gym at 5:00 a.m., always varying her workouts. After a short time she realized the competitive urge was coming back. She wanted to compete again, but she wanted to try something new. 

This is when Donna decided to enter her first figure competition with the O.C.B. on July 25th, 2009 (yankee classic) in Newburyport, MA. She was fortunate enough, and extremely pleased to win the best presentation award, 1st place in the masters division, 1st place in the open division, and 1st place overall- earning her very sought after pro card. Donna loves fitness and competing, and she'll continue competing in figure competitions for as long as shecan!

Donna is one of most impressive figure competitors I have seen as a judge or competitor. It's not just her perfectly balanced physique... she absolutely owned the stage. You would have thought that she has been competing in figure competitions for years. Her future as an IFPA Pro is extremely bright. She's going to be one of the favorites in any show she competes in.
