Michelle Brown
Preface Michelle Brown is my favorite local (New England) women's bodybuilder. She has absolutely everything it takes to be an IFPA Pro. Call it timing, bad luck, whatever you want... but the title has eluded her to this point.
Without hesitation... I would say she is the best women's bodybuilder I know who hasn't won her Pro Card yet. Make no mistake... she will not be denied!
The Early Years At age 7, Michelle started dance, tumbling and baton twirling. She continued right up till high school. When she was in the sixth grade, Michelle tried out for the high school gymnastics team. She made the team, and when she reached the eleventh grade... she earned the Donna Koceika Memorial Award. An award given to the best gymnast.
Michelle was one of those high school athletes that managed to be involved in many activities. She was a cheerleader, played field hockey, and ran cross country as well.
When she turned 19 years old, Michelle moved to North Conway, NH. She worked at the Athletic Club, and she got involved teaching aerobics and also joined a women's racquetball league.
She has always lived an active and energetic lifestyle. Fitness "is" her lifestyle!
Michelle Today First and foremost... Michelle is a mother of two beautiful children. She has a 9 year old daughter, Tiana... and a 5 year old son, Trevor. Both are very active in sports. Tiana started gymnastics at 12 months old and swimming at 18 months old. Both children started soccer at the age of 4, and Tiana is also on the cheering team where her mom is the team mother, attending all practices and games. Tiana is also on the Gymdandees team ( the only unicycle and juggling team in New England. If Trevor had his way, he would be fishing all day, every day!
Michelle manages to balance her work, her children's needs and sport schedules, as well as her own.
Tiana and Trevor
Work Michelle owns and operates a nutrition consulting business she started January 1st, 2008 called Nutri-Fit Consulting which is located at Obie's Fitness in Portland, Maine.
She also owns a cleaning business called Eco-Clean, where she only uses all natural cleaning products. She's been cleaning houses for 11 years and loves it!
Bodybuilding On May 24th 2006, Michelle decided to join a local gym to become a happier, healthier person and a great role model for her children. This is when and where she met her personal trainer, Zack Davies. She started out training two days a week for a month, and then went to three days a week. Michelle couldn't believe how much her body had changed in just a short time, but it was enough that Zack asked her if she had ever thought of competing? Of course her initial reaction was, "at my age"? and "compete in what"?. Zack, said bodybuilding! Michelle was shocked and intrigued all at once. She did her homework and checked into competitions... and within thirteen weeks, on October 28th, 2006, Michelle entered her first competition, "The Granite State Open", in Dover, New Hampshire. Michelle placed, 1st in the Novice Class, 8th in the Master's, and won the Best Poser award. She had always dreamed of having a good physique, but never imagined achieving that dream. Since her first show she has been hooked on bodybuilding and has entered the following competitions with great results:

Michelle says she can say that the experiences she has had with bodybuilding competitions have been exhilarating and rewarding. She knows the dedication and determination that it takes to go into each one of these competitions, and it has been well worth it. Michelle can honestly say, "It has been a journey of a lifetime".
Michelle feels she owes much of her success to Zack Davies. Without Zack's professional, personal training techniques, and his dedication to seeing his clients succeed, she would have never entered the world of natural competitive bodybuilding. Throughout their three years of training, Zack has sculpted and transformed her body into a physique she is proud of. He has seen her through her worst and best days, and has always been by her side. He is a true friend and she is forever grateful. Michelle thanks Zack for "believing in her".
A great honor Michelle was asked to pose for the cover of Fitness First USA.com Supplement Catalog - Winter 2009 edition.
