Laurie Sperandio

Laurie was in the corporate world for over 15 years... retiring at 39 to have her daughter. Despite working, and then having her daughter, she always trained. She was in the gyms in New York City back in the days of Gladys Portugese, Arnold etc. In her mid forties she became a group exercise instructor and personal trainer. She could do something and still be there for all school activities of her daughter Talia.

As Laurie was training herself (she had never had a trainer, mostly due to finances and being a single mom)... one afternoon in her neighborhood gym, Felix walked in and asked if she was training for the upcoming All Natural Bodybuilding Competition in Tarrytown, coming up in about 6 weeks. Laurie was then 53. Not only was she not, but she knew nothing about competitions, posing, eating etc, but, he sparked her interest.

Laurie learned all she could about diet, posing, tanning etc, and even where to go buy a competition suit very quickly. She went on to win the Masters division that October with a 13 year age disadvantage. The next year she again competed, and this time won the N.Y. State All Natural Bodybuilding Title at 54.

Laurie is now 57 and she's now stronger and even more fit than she was then. As she get's stronger every year of her life...she's considering one more comeback, perhaps at 58, or even to make it more exciting at 60!!!

Laurie's daughter Talia was her biggest supporter in these competitions and he biggest motivation. While all the other competitors had their trainers backstage with them, she had her little girl painting and oiling her. The men and woman backstage were all terrific to her daughter, and made her feel very special.

Laurie still trains daily and her personal training business still continues to grow, even through this recession. She specializes in woman, like herself, with real lives, aging, work, kids and menopause, and she inspires them... that this is their time to be their strongest ever, if they just leave themselves open to all possibilities.

At this point in her life, she has a great relationship with a man that supports and inspires her to bring her message to the public about what she has achieved physically, and how it has kept her young spiritually and emotionally. It all goes together.

I think we would all agree... she is very special, and very inspirational!
